Can someone become a self-taught interior designer and be successful ?

Is it possible to learn AutoCAD, drawing, drafting,art history, furniture design, color theory, etc from books and Internet, without attending school and get a job as an interior designer ?

You can, but it wont garauntee a job. I have a degree in Drafting and the jobs are so far apart that I cant find in that field. Plus they require Experience

yes you can but it wont make you creditable to some people...i have a friend that does interior design on the side but cant get any real work b/c she didnt go to school and get a degree
