As a firefighter, most of us work a part time job in the construction industry. This actually works to our advantage. First it gives us a better understanding of modern construction techniques, and second as the industry makes changes to building materials, it gives you the edge on their installation and characteristics. This type of job also is forgiving in the respect if you worked a pretty rough shift the day/night before, you can easily take off the construction job to recoup. Some of the other guys work various jobs as delivery people, in a deli, mechanics, nursing homes and fire instructors.

You do need sufficient rest to ensure you have good state of mind when fighting fires and sound decisions are made. The jobs you mentioned seem too "heavy". Try telesales.

Smoke and fire repair. You could drop your card off as you're walking out the door of the fire you just put out

Do you work 24 on 24 off then 5 off? If so any of those would work, I know many firefighters do this, and most health careers know the firefighter schedule. You could also do landscaping, maintenance, etc...

actually none of those since you're on call even if you're off in case you have to step in for someone who calls off. Why would you want to go from one physically demanding job to another?

What I would recommend is a home business in health and wellness. You have shown some interest in this field and it has the potential for you to earn a substantial income on the side. I have a home business in this field and find that many people who are working strenuous jobs are getting excellent results from this product. We have many professionals who find it really helps them get through the day, so your market is wide open.

You could be a substitue teacher, that is a part time job and you could be very flexable that way.
