Can I use my degree in animal science to become a veterinary technician?
Asked by Cathryn
I always have been interested in becoming a veterinary technician, and I am currently attending a four year college (Virginia Tech) and plan on graduating with a degree in Animal Science. If I take the license test (not sure what's it's called) to become a technician, is that all I have to do upon graduation? Thanks guys!!

i go to a community college where we have a vet tech program and it seems like there would be some other qualifications since they put in long hours at the clinic for hands on training. BUt it would have to do with your state licensing board i guess. They learn lots of things like catheters and iv's very specific to what they would do while at work.
