What do you think HR will do if I told them that my supervisor/manager?

violate privacy or HIPPA (disclosing someone's personal health information). Do you think HR will do something or let him go?

Depends on how severe the violation was. I don't know the circumstances and what your HR department is like (ex do they follow up with employees?).
I say it couldn't hurt to try.

That will depend on what kind of proof that you have that this happened.
Make sure you have all your information ready before you go in. If this info was on you, get a statement from whomever your supervisor gave it to. Check the company hand book and make sure there is a policy in place regarding giving this info out.
cover your rear so it doesnt come back and bite you on the butt and they think you just want to stir up trouble.

What context is this in? Are you in a healthcare company/provider? Or is this a matter of a supervisor talking about one his co-workers/employee's health issues that he has knowledge about? If it's in a healthcare context, it would be a worse thing given how highly regulated providers are. Also depends on how much information was given. If there was an actual legal violation of HIPPA and something happened out of it (like the company was sued), the supervisor might be let go. Otherwise, it may just be cause for a reprimand.
