I am thinking about doing welding as a career what are the pros and cons?

I want to pick up a trade and welding seems ok? I know the pay is pretty good. what are some others?

Ok, so you know that it pays good. If you like working with your hands, getting dirty, and making things that most people cant, then welding is for you. You learn alot. You can fix almost anything that you or your friends break. If you like doing art, you can make art with metal. Not to mention that chicks love welders. The good things that come out of it are endless. You just have to find out if it is for you or not. I mean it is hot, dirty, and can be harmful at times. I think it is worth it tho.
I have been a certified pipe welder for 4 years now. Been welding for 6 years.
