Do you have to have any experience to become a juvenile correction officer?

I read that the minimum requirements were a HS diploma or equivalent, but that seems too easy...can anyone shed light on this question for me?

I think most pay for training or provide on the job training. There are a lot of opportunities in my area for those jobs too and the requirements aren't much. You background check will likely be the most important factor.

No experience necessary. As a matter of fact, it's one of the many fields that they prefer you have no experience to have developed bad habits or set in non-condusive ways. However, it would be helpful to have a background, training, classes, or courses in law enforcement, criminal justice or child psychology.
