Should I Change Jobs?
Asked by Sarah
I have been at my current job for a year. I absolutely love it. I can wear what I want, and I basically get paid decently to sit in front of the computer all day and surf the web. My boss is understanding that I'm a single mom, the guys I work with are really cool people and, basically, I love it.
The downfall is that the company I work for does not offer health benefits or anything like that. I haven't gotten a raise in 9 months and I'm considering taking on a parttime job to make ends meet. I basically live paycheck to paycheck.
I got an email from a company that got my info of an employment website. They want me to fax in my info and come in for an interview. They pay $2-$4 more per hour and they have paid benefits. I'm sure it will be business casual, which means I'd have to take out my piercings (I have my life and nose pierced, as well as my tongue). It's closer to home and all of that.
I'm not sure what to do now. Should I stay at my current job or should I apply for this one?

Sounds like your current job is dead end. I would go for the interview and see what they have to offer you. After all, just because you go to the interview doesnt mean that you have to take the job.

If I were in your shoes, I would definitely go for the interview. It may not sound like as easy of a job, and you would have to forego the piercings, but ask yourself this: What is more important-providing for my family or having cool perks at a job?

sounds to me like you should go into business for yourself. Being a single mom you can work around family time, stay home with the kids all day and work 2-4 hours 2-3 times a week and still make great money. You will not have to change anything about yourself. And you will be getting paid to have fun and party. Check out my website and let me know what you think.www.passionpartiesbylorisue.com I love spending more time with the kids, not having to work around my schedule for work to do things with the family. I work about 6 hours a week and make full time pay. I average $25.00 - $125.00 an hour. Email me at lorisue4@yahoo.com and I can give you all the info you need to help get you started.
