What college classes do I have to take to become a teacher?

I would also like to know about how many years of school you have to have in Texas to become a teacher and the average yearly or monthly income in Texas.

Generally speaking you have to take alot of classes in whatever you want to teach and then specific Education classes like Classroom management, Philosophy of Education, the Exceptional Learner, that kind of thing...

Most universities have special programs. If you want to be an engineer, you enter the engineering department. Same thing for teachers. When you're a freshman, you'll take mostly general studies classes and a maybe a few intro ed classes. You'll probably take social science and regular science classes. After graduating, you'll need to pass an exam to get a teaching license. You're looking at $45K at best after a few yrs. Hey, you only work 9 months out of the yr. and get lots of holidays.
