Any ideas on jobs for medical assisting who just graduated with little to no experience?

No experience and looking for a career in medical assisting, recent grad from college. Looking for something in the St.petersburg,Fl area. Please help if u can or know someone who will accept me.

Hello there! I'm a recent graduate from a medical assisting program. I don't live in FL, I'm all the way in California, but hope I could still be of some help. :) Trying to show your worth as a MA is hard when you have no experience. :( You could try these things: *Enroll in placement assistance from the school you graduated from. Sometimes the school will have postings for jobs from companies that don't post the jobs in the newspaper or the internet. *Try craigslist.org for your local area and see what's available *Look for a medical temp agency in the area. I know temp work is not where you want to start, but, while looking for a job you can work as a MA and gain some experience. You never know, you might be a temp one day and the next day gain a full time position! *Attend local job fairs Right now I'm working as a Medical Assisting temp. It's not what I wanted to do, but since my school sent my resume there I figure I would give a shot. I work at an Orthopedics office two days a week. I want something more permanent, but I figure I'd make the best of it and just gain some experience and I could possibly use them as a reference. :) So I understand where you are coming from. Just don't give up. Another thing that is helpful is if you become certified. I noticed more jobs are looking for CMA's. Right now I'm studying tryin to get the information down pact, since there's so much to learn! :) I hope that this has been helpful!!!! Check with the Employment Commission in Florida. Some require no experience and a lot would love to have someone that has graduated! Good luck to you!!
