What the difference between "vice" and deputy"?
Asked by Dave S
I am learning English now. I would like to know the some titles which I am not sure how to say, for example, President--vice president, pfofessor--associate professor, but am I right to say manager--vice manager or deputy manager or assistant manager? There are lots of titles I don't know how to say them with"vice" and "deputy". Thanks in advance for you help.

There are assistant professors and associate professors. There are deputy managers and assistant managers. "Vice" is usually used in conjunction with either "president" or "chairman." The basic rule of thumb is to pay attention to the person's title for use in written correspondence. In conversation, you would simply use Mr. or Ms. Your English is impeccable! I hope this has been helpful.

A:
Assistant manager.
