how good is a pg (correspondence) in supply chain management ?

I am a mechanical engineer working as a material control /purchase engineer in a leading infrastructure/construction company(9 month's experience). I want to persue a post graduate course(2 yhr) in supply chain management from indian institute of material management. Having work experience in material management field will a post graduate course in supply chain management be beneficial for me? I am a bit confused and desperately require a second opinion so please share your views in this context.
