Asked by L H
I was considering changing my major from HR management to Graphics Design I love doing graphics design work. I spend hours upon hours learning all I can on my own. I have heard rumors that the money in graphic design is simply not very high. I love graphic design but I also love money. Anyone know of the salary range for a good graphic designer.?

Are you kidding?? Graphic Designers can make tons of money. I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors in Graphic Design, and I'm doing great. I'm a freelancer for the past year and I have my own business. I work from home and it's great. You pretty much control how much you make. Advertise yourself and the work will start flowing in! Check out this site. I've gotten about 40 projects just on this site.....ifreelance.com Good luck!

Graphic Designers so start off low right out of college but you can make a lot more money becoming an independant contractor along with working a 9 to 5. Salaries can range from $25 -$45 for a graphic designer. If you can climb the ladder and become a Creative Director then you see your salary bump from $45 to $100K depending on where you land a job at. More importantly...it's much easier to start a small LLC company for yourself and do graphic design on the side or maybe even pursue doing that full time. Always keep in mine where the world and economy is shifting to. More web driven marketing, brand marketings and advertising. So graphic designers will always have a place to work. Good luck!

please keep in mind, as a graphic designer these days you must know WEB DESIGN as well AND the back end of it, meaning html, css, java script, flash, etc. Stay w/ HR management major. You can always do graphic design on the side.
