It depends. There are risk but if you are willing to accept them since the money is "sweet" and "big" then it is worth it. Otherwise it is not.

Working in Nigeria now a days is NOT SAFE....due to kidnap for ransom for foreign workers.

several Filipinos were kidnapped in Nigeria last week including the Korean project manager. so its not safe to work there.
