How much does the average waitress make in Texas?

I make $52 a day at my job now. I'm not a waitress or anything like that, I just broke it down to that. I drive about 40 miles ONE way to work, and wonder if I get a full time job in the same town I live in waitressing at a place like Chilie's or something if I would end up bringing home more money than I do right now. What do you think?

It depends on how good of a waitress you are (Most of the time.) Waitress generally get paid around 2-3 dollars and hour+tips. Some resteraunts also share the tips among the employees. If you're a bad waitress, you won't get paid. But, sometimes people won't tip just because they are cheap too.
