How can I find a good part time caregiver in Toronto without going through an agency?

Try putting an add in the newspaper
Ask the gals at your doctor's office
Ask at you pharmacy
If you go to church--as some of the fellow members.
If you have nurses coming, ask them

Talk to local teachers - often times they're in touch with stay at home moms who do work on the side.
Also, volunteer at senior citizen homes and other places where caregivers might be - once you're hooked in, you can inquire there.

Generally I would recommend going through an agency as they will have vetted the candidates. Otherwise, you can advertise or ask health care professionals you work with who may know some options.
