Bank Of America is a great job to work in that they are very professional, classy, and work with a students/adults schedule. I was told by a manager at a Bank of America in my state that they have a consistent, paid tarining that is atleast 2 weeks long and they teach you everyting you need t know and what to expect. They would not just "throw you into the sharks" with out properly training you. There is usually no experience necessary and they also have a program where if you are a college student, they have "tuition reimbursement" where they pay for your tution. I may even try it myself!

As a former bank teller I will say all you need is to be able to add simple numbers and to be able to use a numbered keypad (a 3 x 3 pad) you probably need to have a criminally free background b/c you'll be dealing with cash. You probably will be trained before going into the branch to work, it probably depends on each company the amount of training you receive. It is probably good to also have a college degree or to be on track to receive one soon.

I recruit tellers for a bank (not BoA, but another large institution). We look for experience in cash handling, a steady work history (at least 1 year in most jobs), and preferably some sales experience. Most banks (BoA included) require tellers to do up-selling/cross-selling of their products, so it's beneficial to have experience doing that (i.e., offering store credit cards in a retail store). Banks must also comply with FDIC regulations in hiring their employees, which includes passing a criminal history check (no theft, breach of trust, drug trafficking) and, at some institutions, (don't know about BoA) also a financial credit check.
