How do I get started in real estate devolpment?
Asked by kazmaniandevil05
I'm a second-year college student majoring in finance and I am interested in learning about real estate development, but I don't know where to start. I don't really know much about it so I need to go somewhere that can teach me the basics. Does anybody have any suggestions for a summer job/internship? Someone suggested that I should try to work for a city in the community development office. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Go to someone directly in the RE Development business and meet with them to get some fresh ideas. Ask if the accept interns? Be an APPRENTICE! You can also get some ideas from the Small Business Development Agenecy in your area or the local Chamber of Commerce office in your city. Remember there are man different areas within RE Development. Do you want to run your own company? Or work for someone else? Keep this all in mind. Good Luck! :-)

An internship position with the city is a good way to go. Some positions are paid, and some are not. Have you tried Monster.com? Check with the real estate development major companies directly. Send them your resume and explain that you are willing to work as an intern.

i will tell you the real way to start : to involve folly in this field you need to start depending in yourself , the way is : read the announcement in news paper or advertising magazines that specialized in real estate and try to contact the Pearson s who advertise then try to cooperate with people who need same this kind . i know you will fail for the first time or 2 or 3 times but then you will see yourself run after that good lock
