It depends on the work load... Sometimes less, sometimes more. It is very nice to have the flexibility of a EE job. If you have to leave for some reason, usually you can do it. Also, if your project is interesting, working longer is not a problem.

My boyfriend is an electrical engineer and it depends on if you're in a union or not. Union guys usually work early shifts (just to get out early) starting at 6 and being done at 3 and the rest just do the typical 8-5 (assuming you mean full time) The hours will be pretty standard and in many cases flexible--most engineering firms are pretty indifferent as to what time the work is done, just as long as it's done.
