In Canada, you MUST have journeyman status to work as an electrician. This involves classroom instruction as well as on-the-job training and then two years as an apprentice before you can write the exams to obtain status as a journeyman. Since you're currently employed and not a licensed journeyman, I can only assume you're working under another electrician's ticket. Should you screw up, it's he/she that will take the fall. Good Luck
