as a former medical secretary I know that you need the following courses: medical billing - anatomy & physiology - medical terminalogy - coding courses - medical software training. It took me about 3 years to finish all my schooling. Its a good field - so good luck to you!

Depends on the school, but it is typically about 5-6 months, at least thats how long that course is at my school and the others around my area.
You will learn, Medical billing and coding (ICD-9 and CPT), anatomy, terminology, billing software ( we use Lytec), etc....
