What would a good truck allowance be for a residential construction superintendent?

My boss has asked me what I think is fair for a truck allowance. What should I ask for that is resonable, not too much not too little?

you can go by the mile which at .33 a mile is fair. or go for a rate of $400 a month. On both of these options you are responsible for your gas. I have also recieved a gas card and was compensated only for my insurance.
