I suggest looking into working for one of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program contractors (Bechtel-Bettis in Pittsburgh, Charleston and Idaho; McDonnell Douglas in New York, and Bechtel Plant and Machinery Inc. in New York and Pittsburgh).
