Sams Lil Sis
Need some advice for relocating to North carolina... what city is best for the work I am looking for?
Asked by Sams Lil Sis
My fiancee and I are thinking of moving to NC, either Charlotte, Greensboro or Raleigh. I have experience in the clerical and customer service field, as well as some scattered experience in assembly lines and even bartending. His job experience is driving, with also background in security and warehouse. what city would be best?

Search the job boards there now and see what city has the best suited jobs for you both. www.indeed.com is a good one and will save you tons of time. Also, check out some census/population type data on each city and find the demographics that you like. The biggest city is not necessarily the best one for you and your tastes. Call a local Realtor up in each city and ask for advice on housing. This is critical and can cause you tons of stress or get you really excited. Check out a cost of living comparison on www.salary.com to see how your salaries match up. It is also best to find a friend, or friend of a friend, in the city you select to help guide you in the right direction. Good luck!

move to charlottle. it is the biggest city in NC, and it has many job opportunities. plus if you and you fiance have kids later on when you are married, there are many colleges and schools where the can go.

I'd suggest Charlotte, just because it's the biggest city of the three.

NC native here. For what you're looking, either of those three would be great, and they would have plenty of job opportunities. You can't go wrong with either one.

You should also consider Durham. It is where Research Triangle Park is, so you'd probably find a good deal of office work nearby. And homes there are way more affordable than either Raleigh or Charlotte....not to mention the schools are much less crowded.
