What is a good website for finding a Government job or any job in general?

My husband is going to have to find new job as his current one is going under due to the slow housing market.I was wondering what would be a good site to go onto to look for a Government or State job or any job in general.So far all the ones I've tried aren't any good. Are there any that have a wide variety of job listings? I'm thinking that a job with the Government or State might be more secure than one like he has now. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

http://www.bls.gov has a list of jobs and the wages you get paid.

I'm not sure that there are too many governmental jobs as of late. People tend to stay in those types of jobs due to the benefits being so great and all :) In addition to the other sites mentioned, perhaps the Sunday newspaper classified/help- wanted section has some job leads as well. Perhaps he can go to a temp agency in the meantime so that there is at least some money coming in. Wishing you the best! Perhaps the Department of Labor has info about legit gov't jobs: www.bls.gov

Most States have their own centralized database of government jobs. Check with that. Don't rely on monster or careerbuilder.

Here are some government job sites.. http://www.opm.gov/index.asp http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/ They are both good.. Dont be so sure about the job security though. I work for the USPS and they are cutting jobs.

USAJobs.com is THE source for federal jobs. Forget about the monster and careerbuilder crap. If you are looking for state jobs, go to the website for your site (should be something .gov or .org) and there is usually a link to available state jobs.
