Good luck! You're better off applying for SSDI.

Go to temporary agencies...they have industrial, clerical, technical ones to name a few! I've actually found most of my jobs that way!

Sorry but I think it is time you stopped riding the "high horse" It isn't so much what you CAN do anymore, it is what you are WILLING to do.
Look at some temp agencies in your area - they will help you ease back into the work force through experience and education. It may be demeaning to an extent at your age, but when it comes to food on the table - any amount of $$ will do.
I would imagine in Central FL there are all sorts of labor jobs available right now, same for sales, and other misc. income positions. Check on www.craigslist.com go to the Florida page and look for your area (I think it automatically opens to the San Francisco page so you will have to find FL on the right side).
Really all you need for a job is ID, your proof of citizenship, and 3 really good references. Surely you've done something remotely productive in the last 6 years...? I honestly can't imagine anyone sitting on their ass for that long. I am going on maternity leave for 6 weeks and I know I will be ready to go back to work immediatly afterwards. Well to each their own - I don't know your story so...in any case if you have helped in your community, established barter working relationships, have a good character and people count on you for things - you should be able to find a job pretty quick.
One nice thing about the temp agencies is - if you don't like what you are doing - you can always ask for a different assignment! It is kind of nice to get back into the swing of things.
