What does it take to get a pharmaceutical or medical sales career?

I'm a sales rep for a freight company looking to get into the pharmaceutical or medical industry. My wife is going to medical school, and it would be nice if we were both in the same industry. Any input would be much appreciated!

I am pretty sure to be a drug rep you have to have a bachelors degree in any field. Then you have to be hired from all the other people who think they really want that job to. I heard its tough. Just hear say, but they base it on appearance and ability to talk with others.
