Part of the difficulty is that IT means different things to different people. From your question, it seems that your view of the term emphasizes hardware. You're thinking of computers and networks. This job description is all about information systems and not so much about hardware. (If I had written it I would have put "IS Director" not "IT Director," but not everyone would agree.) Everything mentioned here is about computerized accounting systems. Key words are "programming," "G.E.R.S. furniture program," "furnishing reports," "inventory control," "accounts payable," "receivables." These all refer to particular accounting systems software. If you haven't had coursework or real-life experience in designing, developing, modifying, and trouble-shooting computerized accounting systems, then you aren't qualified for this job. The duties would include all that plus training users and answering user questions. There might be a hardware component to the job too, like systems engineering and network engineering, but they've downplayed this part in the description and that should be a clue. Perhaps they outsource that aspect of their operation. I hope this helps.

An IT Manager is the the Manager of "Information Technology" position with a company. Go to the interview and use your professional training, education and skills to determine if the position is of interest to you? What do you have to loose - right? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ The job description does NOT match the position of what is known as an "IT Manager"? It sounds like an Accounting Operations role and how many people will it be managing and what level of Accounting? Types of positions reporting to the IT Manager? etc? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Have a great week ahead! GOOD LUCK! :-)
