Looking To Join A Union?
Asked by judoka152
I do security for the property managers at a high-rise building in Downtown Boston. I hate it. The pay sucks, the hours suck, and the people I work with are morons. Even my boss has agreed with the last one. Here is the thing; I am looking to join a union in the Boston area. I would prefer a union in the construction field such as a laborer, contractor, etc. What do I have to do to get into any of theses unions?

I would suggest calling them first. Each union may have different requirements. Since they are sending you out, they usually want to make sure that you are competent. Sorry to hear your security job hasn't been a good experience. There are a lot of dodgy companies in that business, but a lot of heads up professionals too. You might try this one if you have any interest in staying in the biz. www.dayzim.com
