What kind of jobs can you do with AutoCAD?

My hubby is taking classes for AutoCAD. What will he be able to use this for?

autocad is extremely useful. most engineering firms use some sort of cad... once you know one, the others are easy to learn. engineering firms generally always have a draftsman to do their pictures for them, and you don't have to have an engineering degree to do that.

he will be able to draw and edit anything (mostly linear 2d or 3d) in a computer. its a pretty solid and versitile program. its used in the field of engineering mostly.

-Manufacturing & industrial design

Besides what others have siad it opens the path way to some other things, including 3D. i would encourage your hubby to always contuinue learning in the cad field, becasue you could neve learn it all. for example, CAD 3d is the basis for 3d animation. which is what is used in hollywood for lots of computer generated scenes. the superbowl introduction, that was done using a program called studiomax, which also played a large role in the movie "monsters inc" which happens to be made by the same people as autocad, and has alot of simalarities. so really the sky is the limit.
but dont get to excited, he is not going to be making feature films in a few months, those are made by teams of people and are the best of the best.
