Seeking SQL server DBA advice?

I'm thinking about going into SQL world but I really dont know on where to start looking. Are there any one that can help me in where I should start looking?

Here in Jacksonville, FL a school called New horizons will teach you Microsoft SQL Server. Though it is expensive, about $8400. This will lead you to a certification. Other ways would be by book(self study). Books run around $60. Depending on how self motivated this is the cheapest. You can download an 180 day eval version of MS SQL Server 2005 from Microsoft. It not easy if you do not have a computer background.
Iv'e been a DBA for 17 years and my 2 kids are pursuing the class track.
