mining jobs in Australia?
Asked by bjc
Has anyone got a job in an open cut coal mine from having just the Generic Induction Certificate? I want a job in Queensland. Can anyone who is working in the mines or know of anyone who is, tell me the best course or licences to get to have a better chance of getting a job. I'm talking about unqualified jobs, not trade or uni qualifications. Thanks.

Best Answer:
Forlift, earthmoving, and truck licenses are pretty much essential

I have friends who have worked in the mines. The best thing you can have is a truck license, any tickets for operating heavy earth moving machinery. Go to job search, click on Qld, click on mining towns and you should get all the info you need.Good Luck.
