Best Answer:
Check your local newspapers; put your resume on Jobs.com, CareerBuilders.com, Monster.com; apply at both permanent and temporary agencies in your city. If you have the skills and/or training/experience--you should get all of the above in no time.

go to an oil company like BP or National Oilwell or Diamond Offshore, you can go from little office lady to big manager and they are very flexible with their vacation days. just trust me. i hope this helped.

agencies are NOT for lazy people, as the other person claimed. a lot of companies use staffing agencies because they do not have their own human resources department, or because they do not have the time to properly screen potential employees. check out Office Team, they do have an office in Chicago. officeteam.com (make sure you specify temp-to-hire)

If you are asking this question on a computer, then the answer is right there under your nose. The computer can help you locate the jobs you wish to check about(even in your local area),the computer will give you all the coverage that you need or want on types of jobs that you are searching for, including list of benefits, and how long you have to be on the job to qualify for the benefits. If they are not listed, then it should tell you the phone numbers and addresses of these jobs in order for you to ask about that type of information you are seeking pertaining to coverage and benefits. Then all that remains left is for you to give them information about yourself in the form of a resume and application. After you hand that into the job sites, check to see if they can use you for the skills you have, and keep on checking back with them,to show that you are interested in the job,as well as being willing to take the task on required. So just check around for the work you want, using the internet, phone book, classifieds,or employment offices to help you get a lead on what you are searching to obtain on a job.Good Luck to You.

If your looking for something permanent I'd say an executive assistant is a better way to go. I know executive assistants that make up to 80k a year and sometimes more. If your looking for a temporary thing then monster.com and yahoo hot jobs has some really good stuff. a temp agency is another way to go. they can offer the same services that monster.com would but you have someone else do the searching for you. A recruiter is another way. The difference between a temp agency and a recruiter is that a temp agency places you somewhere and that company can either hire you for full time or just for a project. Some temp agencies offer health programs but I'm not to sure on that. A recruiter will go through their large data base to find a job that you are qualified for and set up an interview and all the leg work for you. they can negotiate pay and benefits for you. Both the temp agency and recruiter are free services to you as an applicant. the hiring company pays them to find qualified applicants. They can also help you with your resume too (sometimes). Good luck with the Job search!
