Yes it is in demand. Usually the school you go to will help place you. If you go in to phlebotomy you can apply at a hospital right when you get out of school. You can work in the lab at the hospital. Or another thing to do is apply at an independent lab who does health fair expos.Usually you can become a lab supervisor quickly. Met Path Laboratories offers this. I do not know all of their locations though. If you are in California contact Charleen Berry.Quest Diagnostics ... (formerly MetPath, Inc.)
Do not worry about experience.
The first link is Quest Diagnostics homepage.
The second link is all the phlebotomy jobs they have in the entire United States.

It depends on the area where you live. Locally (Las Vegas), the market for phelbotomists is flooded (more people have training/experience than there are jobs). You may want to consider a medical assisting training - longer and more duties to enhance your employability.

very much in demand and usually a stepping stone to another job in the medical field. your attitude might need adjusting before you apply for a job or to a school, though.
