Asked by George H

A:
Best Answer:
just the titles - both do pretty much the same, maybe a difference in pay. Only in large corps will you find both in small corps - the titles are pretty interchangeable

A:
A Director level job is a higher level than a sales manager, but that depends on the company offering the job. Typically, a Director will have many sales Managers reporting to them, and the sales Manager will have many Salespeople reporting to them. The job of the Sales Manager is to motivate the salespeople to accomplish their goal. The job of a Director is to create proper incentives that will motivate both the sales managers and salespeople to succeed (create bonus structures, commissions, awards, etc.)
