Do you need a degree in Interior design to become an interior designer?
Asked by R R
I have a degree in Literary Arts and in corporate PR. How do I go about pursuing a career in interior design? I am very good at decorating & design, it is my passion and I have received compliments from almost everyone who has visited my home.

Hello. I was caught by your question because I have a friend who asked me exactly the same question except that he has a degree on Electrical Engineering. I remember to advice him to take photographs of the before and after of the areas that he design and make a portfolio of it, which he did and showed it to some of his friends who then asked him to design for them their houses and rooms for free.. then his talent was known to many people as it spreads through the photograph.. now he has a 2 Interior desining office and is working very well in this area. Therefore, if you have the talent and passion in interior decorating and design, make the best of it, pursuing a course in interior design will be a plus and of course will add to your credibility. Good luck to your career and I hope that you will have a very successful interior desining business too..
