To do well, you'll need a can-do attitude, a quantitative mindset, a way with people (read: able to succeed in teamwork), and to create opportunities where most would think can't exist.
Reaching out to current alumni from your school, or directly contacting the bank for an informational interview would provide the best insight.

if you're going to be in the operations department, you'll probably be involved with compliance, auditing, fraud, risk control, analysis, etc. You'll definitely need the quantity-type mindset--numbers driven and operational in thought. It's a service position more than anything. In that kind of position, I would be looking for someone who is ethical, numbers driven, dedicated, motivated, a team player, and all the qualities that any hiring manager would look for.
