its best to stick to one page, unless you just have too much relevant experience, then two is ok. whichever it is, don't leave any blank space..

A:
2 sheets max people lose interest after that leave them wanting to interview you to find out more

A:
Many companies prefer a one sheet resume and a cover letter. If you have trouble fitting it on that size, you may consider removing the references section (if you have one), and making a note such as: "References on request." I would agree with the previous answer also, no more than 2 sheets.

I agree with the first poster..... 2 pages tops. You are making a resume to get in the door to show them what else you have done. 2 tops. Otherwise its not going to get read, at least I wouldnt read it. *update* Just to get my point across a little bit more. My assistant would say we have 50 applications (I worked for a fortune 500 company). I hired people for them. My assistant said what is your number? It was always 2. I never saw a resume over 2 pages they were kept of file but I wouldnt read them, and im sure nobody else will either. 90% of them might have been more qualified but I have other things to do. I cant read a novel. If it was over 2 pages it never ever hit my desk.

Please disregard the other posters. Since you are an engineer, your resume will be much longer then 1-2 pages. Its always best to create a CV (curriculum vitae) that will cover the projects that you have worked on, the software/hardware that you are proficient with, continuing education/traning that you have gone through, etc etc etc. In general, make your first page a summary page. This first page needs to be a standard resume. Then on the additional pages, include what I wrote about you.

A:
Stick to one page and don't put too much experience or a long timeline. Age discrimination is rampant in the civilian world.

A:
2 pages is best. Don't under any circumstances go over 3 - it would be better to leave out some detail and keep it to 2.

A:
what is important is you have to indicate your work experience from present and past so that the company may know how to qualify you being the position you are applying for.
