Nichole A
where or what is the best way to look for a part time job?
Asked by Nichole A
Is it better to apply online or go and walk in and ask for a resume. Im looking for a clerical or banking job. How do you walk into on of these places to ask for a resume. Most of these companies you have to apply online anyways. Is it a waste to actually go there.

Many companies request that the job seeker fill out an application online nowadays. If you wish to apply to a bank, I suggest you save some time by applying online instead of walking in. Be sure to have your resume ready to post after or before you fill out your application. If you don't get a response back in 2-3 weeks, I suggest you call the human resources department or ask to speak with a hiring manager. Be polite and when you speak with someone tell him/her that you are very interested in applying for their company and applied 2 weeks ago. Tell him/her that you would like to know the statuse of your application and go from there. If you decide to walk in, I suggest you dress to impress. Dress professionally but don't over due it. Kindly say hello to the person at the front desk and tell him/her that you are interested in applying for a job there and would like an application. When you are finished with the application then go back and turn it in. If you can ask to turn it into the hiring manager so that he/she can meet you. Make a good impression and be very polite. Good luck :)

i am also looking for a job in bank or financial industry. i went to some banks but they always says please fill out our on line application and post resume on our website etc. i have been doing this for a long time specially for bank of America they never replied-never ever. you batter go through the reference if you have any. i think going directly to thier office to give a resume is really a waste of time, they don't even take your resume if you have one in your hand.
