Applied for assistant manager at a retail store, called to follow up, no response, should I stop in? Read on?
Asked by :-)
I applied for an assistant manager position at a retail job. I am more than qualified for the position. When I first picked up an application, the manager didn't put in any effort in introducing herself, etc. That was a week ago. I called to follow up on the application yesterday. The manager took my name and number down and said she'd call back. I haven't received a call. Should I stop in to check the status of my application?

Apparently they are not interested. If they were, they would have called you for an interview.

I would check in once more and then move on. You want an employer who follows through anyways.

the first problem is that a women was the manager, they do not know how to manage at all. They dont like women because they are always trying to compete with them and they dont like men because they fear that they will do a better job then they can and get promoted faster then them. Second you are calling and applying during the long weekend ( if you are in north america) best thing to do is apply directly to HR and make yourself noticed. If you really want this job or any you have to be persistent good luck and when i come in I would like to use your discount :)
