Custodian, a good job?

In a public school district, raises every year. benefits and retirment. full time and job security.. is this a good job or not?

It sucks, let's be honest. I say this because you're talking long term. Doing it for a year would be fine. I tell you honestly that it would be so simple to start your own custodial (cleaning) service and you'd be the CEO of your company. You would stand to make more money, and you could afford to get those benefits for yourself and possibly some key employees down the road. Why do you want to plan a career being a school janitor? But if the job security is that important to you, go for it.

A custodial position in a public school district is a deadend job. Nevertheless, the same custodial position at U.S.C. will garner after 12 years of employment the following: "Free" tuition to immediate family members including the employee's spouse, and theiur children [assuming that they all meet the minimum entry level admission requirements]. That's a better custodial opportunity. Good luck!
