Getting a certification in HR would be helpful. You might also consider specializing payroll, the "HR" piece of accounting, and then making a transition into timekeeping or another role.
Visit www.humanresources.org, or www.shrm.org, for resources on how to get certified as well as HR openings in your area.
Good luck!

Most Top 200 corporations have very large HR departments. They love to hire people who are analytical thinkers. Try the strategic side of HR and then work your way into recruiting. Strat. jobs include employment (sourcing), workforce planning, comp and benefits, training and recruiting.
