What is the average salary of an RN who just graduated?
Asked by jon l
I've done some research and the average salary for an RN is about $23.50 an hour(48-50k per year). But I'm assuming that's including RN's from community college and the RN's with work experience. I just want to know how much i could expect to make if i graduate with a Bachelor's in Nursing from a good university, with a 3.2 GPA-3.7 GPA?

Best Answer:
New grads BSN or ADN generally make about the same approximately 21/hr to 30/hr depending on which state you are working in. The major difference for BSNs is advancement either in management or education. So later on in your career, you want to begin looking at what type of nursing you would like to do ie. traveling, CCRN, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthetist, Educator, or Administrator. All these suggestion require a Masters degree (exept traveling) but it will definitely advance your salary to 80k or more. You need to think about retirement, because floor nursing is brutal. Good Luck!
