What kind of experience do you need to become a fnancial anaylst?
Asked by Virginia
Would being a teller at a bank help? Would working at a payroll company help more? Would any of these two jobs meet the experience requirements to become a financial anaylst?
What kind of job would be good to have before applying for a financial analyst position?
Thanks!
I already have a bachelor's degree in Finance.

The payroll / accounting clerk will help you get to Finacial Analyst sooner. The Finacial Analyst title is one they use as a catch all for entry level business person. A degree in Business or Accounting would help you get there sooner. I hope this helps

Would it not depend on what company is doing the hiring. I am sure different companies have different levels of experience and education requirements for their analysts.
I would think working in the banking industry would get you headed in the right direction moreso than anywhere else.

I am a financial analyst. Basically, you need to understand accounting concepts like EBITA, Overhead costs, cost of sales, etc. You also have to be very analytical and very good at working with numbers.
I don't think either of those two jobs would be much help. I would look for something in accounting or a job where you work with and anlyze data/numbers.
I was a credit analyst before becoming a FA. Look into a credit analyst job. I learned a lot with that.
That should put you on your way.
