Comcast Cable Technician Question?
Asked by Waco
A company near where I live is hiring Technicians, and the rep. I think may have talked up the job a little bit. Just curious what others experience doing the same type of work has been? He told me they make anywhere from $800+ a week depending on how late you want to work each night.. Thanks!

My B/F travels a lot and meets alot of them in hotels. Good money, but zero home life. A lot of travel, and it's usually based upon the job as to pay. How many feet of cable you can replace a day. How many hook-ups a day. If you're lucky and get a franchise to work for you're better off, but it can be less money, too.

You would be paid either by the hour or by the installation. Typical of the trades. For example, a plumber charges $45/hour for his work. 2,000 hours in a year, $90K income. But, only if he works all those hours. He may go a whole day without a job so no pay for that day. If Comcast is hiring, ask if the job pays by the hour or installation. Hourly is better because a really difficult installation will not pay any more than an easy one.
