What kind of jobs can I get with a degree in Medical Assisting?
Asked by amandamoose
I'm in a program to get my associates in Medical Assisting and was wondering what kind of jobs I could get when I graduate? I would like to work with children or infants. I would also like to work with women in labor and delivery. Thanks for your help!

You would be hired to do what you have been trained to do- be a medical assistant. Most of the time its RN's who are working in L & D- not MA's. What could you do? You aren't certified to give NURSING care, a CNA.

You can work in a medical office (pediatrics or obstetrics) in front office (reception), clinical, the lab, in records or in billing. You could work in a hospital, but your state probably has some kind of rules and regs about what you can do there. Check your state licensing bureau for what you can reasonably expect to do.
