What kind of personality do you need to have to be a restaurant waitress?

A patient one. I did waitressing to fund myself through university and it brought the worst out in me. By the end of it I was definitely not a people person!!

you should be a people person & even if you are feeling low - smile & make people feel at home in your restuarant!

depends where you live, and what kind of restaurant you work in, and is that your goal, or just a way to earn money to get through studies ... but tolerant and patient are definite musts, I think

Helps to be very outgoing, easy to get along with, cheery and sunny. Must have infinite patience and a steady hand. If you get your feelings hurt easy - don't become a waitress

It helps to be constantly cheerful and happy, or at least be good at pretending to be. You will get to put up with all kinds of people being a waitress. You are the liaison between the customer and the cooks. Be very very helpful and very very happy to help. Being nice never hurts your tips either...

u need to be a naturally cheerful, helpful person, with the patience of a saint ! personally, it's not a job that i would want - i'd end up dumping food on someone for being rude / nasty.

outgoing, polite, good patience, people person, bubbly. You will get your nice customers, but you will defo get your nasty ones....who will be extra fussy and maybe look down on you...esp as you are serving them.
