How can i get a job on an oil rig with little experience?

I've previously worked on a gas rig 5 years ago in the middle east as a contractor,for 3 months as an instrument tech, I'm a qualified electrican and also work in the gas industry, but am finding it difficult to get an interview or start as all adverts i see want years of experience,

forget reading advertisements. Start sending cover letters and your resume to companies you want to work for..you have more than enough experience.
