Does anyone have advice on how to find a graphic design job?
Asked by cantrelldeb
My daughter has a 4 yr degree in graphic design, 1 year of experience. Has had a tough time finding a job in the Atlanta area. Any ideas before she finds a new line of work?

Perhaps she could do some free or inexpensive projects for some local nonprofits to build up her resume and increase her experience. She could list such projects as freelance work. Also, she might consider looking in to working for organizations such as universities, hospitals, etc. These groups often have a need for a variety of professional skills. Finally, I suggest she contact some placement agencies, she may be able to find contract positions that will be project based. Although these aren't likely to be permanent positions it's a great way for her to work in her field, build up her resume and possibly make some good connections for finding the right job. Good luck!

that sucks. my college after graduation found me job(it's their job to find me a job after completing all courses) since i'm paying them to do their job. best place is to put ads in the inner city paper or do what my college friend did and just apply on monster showing your degree and he got a call 48 hours after and now works for Budweiser in st. louis. good luck, it's hard to find a job being a graphic designer since they come a dime a dozen.
