When I applied at Target a month ago, they gave me an interview right after I applied and it caught me completely off guard, I was in flip flops, shorts, a t-shirt, and I had just woke up. They hired me on the spot. However, your situation is different, you know you have an interview coming up, so look nice. Don't wear jeans. Go in nice khakis and a button-down, or something with a collar, you don't have to show up in a full suit. They'll ask all kinds of questions, ranging from questions about your background to other things such as "if we called one of your references, what would they say about you?" or "give an example of where you had to work together in a group and you disagreed with a teammate" and just stuff like that. Try to be thoughtful, and straight up. And be friendly. As long as you don't act too much like an idiot, make yourself presentable, and act pleasantly, you will have a good chance of getting hired. Good luck!
I work there.

Hi! As an employer I look for several things. Appearance, confidence and clean and polished. NO JEANS!!! If you are a girl, please lighten up on the make-up and bright finger nail polish. And a nice shirt and slacks or skirt is fine. No heels. For a guy, a tie, shirt and nice slacks with a nice shoe. NO Sneakers. You are representing target to the public, so clean hair and smell fresh. BO is a turn off and so is cheap over done perfume. Answer the questions honestly and to the point. No likes, yeah, hums, or you knows. I don't know. Tell they this is YOUR very FIRST job interview and you are very nervous. Everyone can relate and will understand. Tell them why you want the job, you would like to have steady employment with an establish company that has good reputation, benefits and you can work flexible hours. Tell them you can work some nights and weekends. They will love that. Tell them you are honest, have never been in trouble (unless you have, and then be prepared to explain) and want to prove you are a good employee. Also add that you are eager to learn and will do any training they want you to do and work any dept. Tell them you would like to try different things as they feel you are ready. I think this is enough said, make sure you don't wiggle or chew lips, nails or hair and you will be fine. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
