How long should it take me to study for all 4 parts of the CPA?
Asked by dreamscape1984
I will be graduating shortly from Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting but I have not landed a job yet. I really want to work for the big 4 but since I have not received an offer, I was thinking of studying for the CPA and passing it then trying again which should hopefully increase my chances. I will be working only part-time so I can fully focus on studying. I am pretty good at studying by dedicating myself therefore I will probably buy the Roger Philip online CPA review course. Anyways, how much time do you think I should dedicate to studying each section if I really don't have any other engagements. I appreciate all comments. Thanks.

I studied 32 hours a week for six months, and still had to retake the practice section. But things have changed since I took it in 1978. Try to get some sleep the night before the exam starts, take a few candy bars for energy, and answer questions you know well first, come back to the more difficult questions, if totally stumped--ask yourself what do I know about this topic--it will help you recall.
I wish you the best.
